| NEVILLE DICKIE | London, England |
|
A fantastic pianist, a top contender for No. 1 in Europe. It is a thrill to see him face off with the festival's other "bests," of whom there are many. At some sets, he'll be paired with drummer, Danny Coots. They have a ball. |

Theirs is an appropriate name. They are truely explosive, full of the fire of youth. But youth is a comparitive word; each member has more than a decade of experience. They spice up their traditional repertoire with originals of their own. |

Anne Barnhart gets better every year, not just on the flute but as a performer. She is a delight to watch as well as to listen to. Who would have guessed that a flutist would become a prime attraction at a jazz festival? |

| JERRY KRAHN QUARTET | Nashville, Tennessee |
|
There are two reasons to hear Jerry Krahn, his masterful technique and the instrument he plays, the archtop guitar. Most accoustic guitars are flat with oval holes. The archtop is slightly rounded with f-holes like violins. They have more oomph. |
